LDS Church temple at Daybreak
Kennecott Land is honored that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints chose Daybreak as the site for the Oquirrh Mountain Utah Temple. The site sits atop a bluff that provides a spectacular east view of the entire Salt Lake Valley and into Utah and Davis counties.
Kennecott Land wants Daybreak to be the type of community where a diversity of religious people will choose to house their sacred buildings. In addition to great homes, neighborhoods, parks and schools, religious gathering places are an important part of building an enduring community. Kennecott Land is in discussions with other religious groups that would like to establish at Daybreak.
A garden promenade extends from the west view of the temple and continues to Daybreak's Oquirrh Lake, providing unobstructed views from either direction. The promenade includes meandering sidewalks, flowers and benches and is meant to be a picturesque and serene connection between the lake and the temple.
The 60,000-square-foot temple is built on an 11-acre site. Another adjacent 2.7-acre site southwest of the temple will house an LDS Church.
Access to the temple is from 40th West; Daybreak residents will be able to access the temple from the community.
