Premier Scholarships
Kennecott Premier Scholarships are awarded annually. Kennecott works with five local colleges and universities: University of Utah, Brigham Young University, Utah State University, Westminster College, and Weber State University. These scholarships provide prospective students with financial assistance and Kennecott with an effective tool to improve recruitment and encourage retention in disciplines related to our industry. Kennecott scholarships are renewable and continue through a student’s senior year, dependent on the student’s ability to continue to meet the criteria set forth for the scholarship.

Work-Study Scholarships
In 2006, Kennecott implemented a new Work-Study Scholarship Program. The Work-Study Scholarship Program provided 18 scholarships to four technical, vocational, and community colleges in Utah. These disciplines are critical to keep Kennecott’s operations running at the highest caliber. Participating schools include: Davis Area Technical College, Utah Valley State University, Salt Lake Community College, Ogden/Weber Applied Technology College, and Salt Lake Tooele Applied Technology College.
