Daybreak
We can give you all kinds of numbers about Daybreak. How big it is (4,200 acres). How many of those acres will be used for parks and open space (up to 1,000). How many homes will be built here (up to 20,000). But the real story of Daybreak — even the at-a-glance version — is why we’re doing all this.
It’s all about creating a sustainable community. A place that preserves the environment and the quality of life for today’s residents and for generations to come. So when we decided to build Oquirrh Lake here, it was to conserve water and to provide an amenity that all kinds of people can enjoy. When we devoted a large portion of the community to open space, the goal was to preserve views of the mountains and to let everyone have parks within walking distance.
Kennecott Land is working with the Jordan School District so that good neighborhood schools are part of the Daybreak community. We’re developing ongoing educational programs to make learning a lifelong pleasure. We’re planning retail areas and office parks right within Daybreak, so residents can spend less time in their cars. And we’re installing an extensive system of trails to let residents stay connected with everything Daybreak has to offer … including their neighbors.
The homebuilders of Daybreak are creating homes with the kind of character you find in Salt Lake City’s original neighborhoods. So the beauty of this community will not only be sustained, it will be enhanced with every passing year.
