2009 Sustainable Development Report
At Kennecott Land, our commitment to sustainable development is very strong. We believe our sustainable development practices are important ways to demonstrate that we are a responsible community partner in the Salt Lake Valley. Sustainable development includes planning for social, economic and environmental considerations and impacts. To share our progress, Kennecott Land has jointly prepared the 2009 Rio Tinto Salt Lake Valley Sustainable Development Report with Kennecott Utah Copper. It is our fourth annual report and our second jointly produced report. The report covers our 2009 accomplishments and areas where we need to improve. We invite you to read the report online.
Our past successes and current plans, however, can only accomplish so much. That is why we regularly work with community groups, government, academia, non-profit associations and utility providers to gain valuable feedback on our progress.
